Hi, I'm Kathy San! I'm an IT professional who’s passionate about technology and cybersecurity. I love solving security challenges, protecting digital identities, and finding ways to make things more efficient. Wherever I go, I strive to make a real impact by creating secure and effective solutions that help people work smarter and safer.

My journey into IT started during my time in healthcare, where I often helped colleagues troubleshoot technical issues. That experience sparked my passion for technology and cybersecurity.​

​

I enjoy working with teams, breaking down technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and finding solutions that balance security with usability. My goal is to keep growing, learning, and making a meaningful impact in the cybersecurity space.

Outside of technology, I love spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying activities like bowling, taking peaceful walks in the park, and exploring new places through travel.

Desktop Support Analyst

Collaborated closely with the IT Director, HR, and managers to ensure employees had the necessary tools, resources, and access for seamless onboarding and offboarding. This included coordinating account setups, software deployments, access provisioning, issuing identity badges for building access, and revoking access upon offboarding improving efficiency and minimizing downtime.

 

Provided frontline support through face-to-face interactions and email, offering technical support and training on applications, printers, hardware, and software systems. Ensured a professional and respectful approach while delivering quick, efficient responses to meet users' needs.

 

Managed system administrator rights to oversee user accounts in Active Directory and Azure services. Responsibilities included assigning licenses, implementing role-based access control, and enforcing security policies. Ensured the use of proper access controls, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and hard tokens for enhanced security.

 

IT asset lifecycles, including configuring and deploying new laptops and devices for end-users, ensuring seamless onboarding experiences. Utilized automated deployment tools and scripts to efficiently provision systems for new users, reducing setup time and errors.

Led the deployment of the KnowBe4 security awareness training platform, working closely with leaders and managers to strengthen security awareness. Conducting regular training sessions and improving security awareness by 93% within six months.

Implemented a PDQ software deployment solution to automate software installations, updates, and security patches for end users. Led the project from planning to execution, ensuring a smooth rollout with no disruptions to daily operations. Continuously monitored and tracked system status to ensure updates were applied successfully, improving efficiency, reducing manual work, and keeping systems secure and up to date.

 

Create clear, user-friendly training documents, making them easily accessible through SharePoint. These resources helped end-users quickly understand procedures, improving productivity and reducing support requests by 80%.
